The White Hart pub’s colourful history has seen the likes of poet Robert Burns take lodgings here. The pub forms one part of a late 18th Century building but we think a tavern has occupied the site since the 1600s. The name White Hart refers to a vision had by a 12th Century Scottish king who was charged by a stag that vanished when he called on God for help.
