Description:
A gorgeous old Victorian treasure, rich in history and famous for its character and preserved original screens.
We've given the old girl a loving retouch to bring out her former glory, but don't worry, it's Grade II listed so we haven't spoilt her original features!
The name The Flask comes from the medicinal waters known as "The Wells" which came from a spring that ran down from the heath. This water was originally preserved for the sole benefit of the poor of Hampstead. By 1700 however the charity trustees had hit on a money spinning idea and announced that these "medicinal" waters were to be sold to the public at 3d a flask. The water was collected and taken to the pub, then called the Thatched House, where it was bottled and sent to London taverns and coffee houses. Hence the name we now know it by - The Flask.
Come and enjoy Halloween in a genuinely haunted pub - maybe you'll feel a presence...failing that, enjoy our fancy dress night of freaky fun!
