Absolutly shocking, the cheapest sausage money can buy deep fried bacon and a hard egg yolk!!! I live in red lodge and have popped in a few times over the last year or so and each time i have been dissapointed with the breakfast lets face it it doesnt take long to grill a piece of bacon and fry an egg but each time it seems they were cooked long in advance of my arrival. Recently i had a flyer put through my door advertising the cafe "why cook at home" it said so i thought id try one of the advertised paninis, so o my bike down to the cafe......got no paninis.......no offer of anything else, ok i said how about a bacon sarnie...."got no bread" was the responce and no offer of anything else, after this i asked for a baugette which joy oh joy they had, so it was promptly wrapped and on my bike home. Upon opening said baugette it looked to have been torn apart by a toddler and consisted of 3 pieces of disgustingly chewy deep fried or whatever they do to it bacon and no butter, straight in the bin!!!! It is not hard to cook nice fresh food and am sure the cafe would have many more customers if it did, A note to the owners go to the angel cafe in mildenhall order breakfast and take note... Having said this the tea is nice and somtimes the cakes!!!

I have used this cafe for years now even before they did the bypass I can always remember how hard it was to cross the road to get in the cafe and even when they put the bypass in I still went there my mum and I refused to use any where else as the staff there are so friendly sadly my mums not hear now but I still use it and always will I like the fact they are building new houses there and now a school if you want a good cafe then this ones the one to go to

I love the cafe for many reasons. The sense of history that fills the place. Shame they got rid of all the old posters etc that showed all the bands and celebrities that have used the cafe. The history of the bikers that had it as one of their stops and hang outs and of course all the truckers that have and still use the place. I love the Sunday roasts and sometimes in the evening we will pop over for a pancake for the kids and a cuppa. It would be a sad day if we ever lost the cafe so use it or lose it....

I've been there on and off for forty-odd years and it hasn't changed a bit! Good value, huge portions of tasty, real food and good old unpretentious service. One of the few places left where you can see tradition in it's original form.

First visit to the Red Lodge Cafe in over 20 years, and it hasn't changed at all. Food as fresh, tasty and generously portioned as ever, same friendly crowd of customers. But I've knocked a star off because I went with a friend, and I'd almost finished my breakfast before his arrived. :( They were pretty busy though!

If you fancy a trip to a real truckers cafe that serves good value , good quality food then its worth the detour off the A11. The bacon was really good quality , and theres no skimping on the portions. The full english would satisfy even the most discerning critic. In summary - Don't expect posh surroundings , but if its the food that you are there for you won't be dissapointed.

A real-deal transport/truckers cafe that serves some of the best greasy-spoon grub ever! 24-hour transport cafe, on the old A11 (nearby the hamlet of Red Lodge) with showers and overnight parking for truckers. Next door to a pub with beer garden that also does food. This place rocks, and the helpings are large and generous. Typical 'truckers fare' grills and fry-ups, along with mega breakfasts and surprisingly good Sunday lunches. Prices are very reasonable indeed - I couldn't believe just how cheap the first time I went there, not how substantial the portions were. Quite a lot of Red Lodge residents use the place as an eat-out treat, or a takeaway, as it's such a good deal. Doesn't matter if you're a trucker or not - if you have a large appetite and want something really chips & everything, then this is definately the place!
