I am a non-nonsense New Yorker and expect service and value and am frequently disappointed in this town, which is one reason I joined Qype: to find out where the best places are, rated by real people. Cafe Aroma is a safe haven from many of the hyped-up places in the neighborhood. I go here frequently and it is consistently excellent. Big portions, decent food at a good price. The place is also very clean, and any place with a stuffed flamingo in the window has to be fabulous. As the review by Bring_Stuff says, it is frequented by builders which is generally a good sign. My personal favourite is the Spanish omlette.

Friendly and simple, we stopped off here to grab a milk shake and a slice of Cherry Pie during a hot saturday. Unfortunatly for us, they were all out of pie! However, the waitress was lovely and explained that late on a Saturday they simply run out of food - which I take as a good sign for a little cafe. There's not much else to this place, except it's value for money, the white bread bacon sandwich I ate was awesome and they have a large stuffed Flamingo in the window - yes that right. Great little cafe, usually full of builders in the week.
